Sri Rama Viswambharanadh (Jatala Sadhu) -A Mysterius Saadhu


Popularly known as Jatala Sadhu, the Saint is acclaimed to have lived for more than 400 years doing penance on the hills of Simhachalam a sacred, ancient temple at Visakhapatnam (Vizag), the sea town in Andhra Pradesh, India. The historical authenticity for the acclaimed belief of the devotees is borne out by many documents and the fact has also been published in the authenticated works (extract is enclosed). Distinguished personalities viz., Sri V.V.Giri, Shri Jnani Jail Singh, former Presidents of India, Smt. Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister, Dr. M.Chenna Reddy and Sri Jalagam Vengal Rao, Ex-Chief Ministers have visited the Ashram to seek his blessings.

For thousands of years, India is acclaimed to be the Home Land for innumerable Mystics, Saints and Saadhus who have displayed remarkable powers of control over nature and its elements. The life and history of Swami is one such. The Swami is accredited by medical tests conducted by qualified doctors of All India Medical Sciences, New Delhi to have lived for more than 400 years and above by His Own Narration of past to the devotees, the Swamiji has expressed personal familiarity with events spanning over four centuries. By the standards of modern day science, this may look impossible* but the evidence available established the 400 plus longevity in human form of the Swamiji.

There are similarities in birth of Swamiji and Sri Krishna. Both are eight child to their parents. Rohini is birth-star of both. Swamiji was born around A.D. 1550. He shed body on 5.6.1993 after living for 440 years or so. At the time of birth, Swamiji displayed miracle by being born lifeless but started breathing soon thereafter. After reaching adulthood, with the permission of his parents, he left home to serve various spiritual Masters and do penance for a long time. At the time of foreigner's onslaught on Indian (society) fabric. He came to holy and pious Simhachalam around 1850. As per Divine command of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Varu (fondly known as Simhadri Appanna) - presiding duty at Simhachalam. He settled down at Simhachalam. During his stay at Simhachalam, five generations of families served him. He was associated with GINNI BABA (of Punjba) and SAIBABA (of Shirdi).

He blessed Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bai. At the time of coming to Simhachalam, he was naked; His long, matted hair was covering the body. Subsequently, at the request of his disciples, he started wearing saffron dhoti. He worshipped Gayathri Matha and performed Navagraha Hommam daily. To devotees, he gave Homa Bhasmam and small pieces of paper as protective Talisman. A Samadhi of Swamiji is in existence on Simhachalam uphills, Visakapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh.
